Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Auburn, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
**As of September 27,2024, project was awarded to All Phase Construction, Inc., awarded amount is $816,625.70.** The 2024/2025 -PROJECT consists of road rehabilitation overlay work on all streets listed below: 1. Marion Way - Placerado Avenue to 126 Marion Way 2. Gum Lane - Canal Bridge to Bike Path 3. Maidu Drive - Auburn Folsom to Burlin Way 4. Shirland Tract - Maidu Drive to Grayhorse Drive (Additive Alternate) Additional work will include over-excavation in areas of poor structural integrity, planning of existing asphalt concrete along gutters and intersections, adjusting manholes and valve boxes to grade, ADA curb ramp rehabilitation, pavement restriping, and traffic control. Marion Way will consist of grinding and removing 4" of existing material. Then, work will consist of a 3" asphalt concrete overlay with Aramid Fiber over top a minimum of 4 inches of aggregate base. The bid item for aggregate base in these locations will include all work associated with compacting, leveling, and grading base to place 3 inches of asphalt concrete above the surface. Gum Lane will consist of a 4" grind and recompact along the parking area in front of 100 Gum Lane and 102 Gum Lane as well as a 2" edge grind from the canal bridge to the beginning of the aforementioned parking area. A 2" overlay with Aramid Fiber will be placed overtop the path of travel from the canal bridge to the bike path trail edge. Maidu Drive will consist of a full width 4" grind and recompact from Auburn Folsom Road to Burlin Way with a 3" asphalt concrete overlay with Aramid fiber over top. Shirland Tract Road will consist of a 2250 square foot 4" dig out with a 3" asphalt concrete overlay with Aramid fiber over top. The AGENCY reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the amount of 10% of the total bid by 3:00 p.m.all bids for the project shall be presented, under sealed cover and shall be accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder's security in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid: (a) cash; (b) a cashier's check made payable to the City of Auburn; (c) a certified check made payable to the City of Auburn; or (d) a bidder's bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, made payable to the City of Auburn. Such security shall be forfeited should the successful bidder to whom the contract is awarded fails to timely execute the contract and to deliver the necessary bonds and insurance certificates as specified in the contract documents. To the extent applicable, at any time during the term of the Agreement for the proposed project, the successful bidder may, at its own expense, substitute securities equivalent to the amount withheld as retention (or the retained percentage) in accordance with Public Contract Code 22300. Pursuant to California Civil Code 9550, a payment bond is required to be submitted for all projects estimated in excess of $25,000.00. The AGENCY has determined that the proposed project is a public works project subject to the provisions of Labor Code 1720 thereby requiring the Contractor to pay the prevailing wage rates for all work performed under the Contract. Accordingly, the proposed project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations. The acceptance of a proposal will be evidenced by a Notice of Award of Contract in writing, delivered by mail to the bidder whose proposal is accepted. No other act of the AGENCY shall constitute acceptance of a proposal. The award of contract shall obligate the bidder whose proposal is accepted to furnish a performance bond, payment bond and maintenance bond, as well as evidence of insurance and to execute the contract set forth herein. Attached is a Bid Bond duly completed by a guarantee company authorized to carry on business in the State of California in the amount of at least 10% of the total amount of this proposal, or alternatively, there is attached a certified or cashier's check payable to the AGENCY or evidence of a cash payment to the AGENCY, in the amount of at least 10% of the total amount of our proposal. If this proposal is accepted, we agree to sign the contract form and to furnish the Performance Bond and the Payment Bond (each to be 100% of the bid amount), the Maintenance Bond (to be 50% of the bid amount), and the required evidences of insurance within ten (10) calendar days after receiving written Notice of Award of Contract. In accordance with Government Code 53069.85, and all other applicable law, the CONTRACTOR agrees to forfeit and pay the AGENCY the amount of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per day for each and every day of unauthorized delay beyond the completion date, which shall be deducted from any monies due the CONTRACTOR. This payment shall be considered liquidated damages. CONTRACTOR agrees that such liquidated damages are reasonable under the circumstances existing at the time of execution of the contract, that such liquidated damages are to compensate AGENCY for losses that are difficult to measure and that such damages are not a penalty.
