The City of Belton is soliciting bids for demolition of four (4) blighted residential structures, three (3) of which include asbestos-containing materials. Abatement/demo must be performed by a SC Licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor. The scope of work will include the demolition and disposal of all materials, including contaminated soil, as asbestos-containing material. 63 Ellison St. Drywall/joint compound 4,015 sq. ft. 207 Haynie St. Vinyl flooring material 200 sq. ft. Drywall/joint compound 3,950 sq. ft. 13 Pelzer St. Vinyl flooring 180 sq. ft. Drywall/joint compound 3,570 sq. ft. Description of Work: Instruct and train each worker involved in asbestos abatement or maintenance and repair of Class I, II, and III asbestos-containing materials in proper respiratory use and require that each worker always wear a respirator, properly fitted on the face in the Work/Isolation Area from the start of any operation which may cause airborne asbestos fibers until the Work/Isolation Area is completely decontaminated. Use respiratory protection appropriate for the fiber level encountered in the work place or as required for other toxic or oxygen-deficient situations encountered. DEMOLITION This section includes the Demolition of designated structures and removal of all materials from site. The intent is to leave a clean, smooth, seeded/strawed construction site. The Demolition and removal of building, foundations, and slabson-grade, sidewalks, fencing, utilities and surrounding shrubbery. All trees are to be left in place. The Environmental/Demolition Contractor is responsible for providing all necessary equipment and manpower to demolish the structures in a safe manner. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Earthwork and site grading operations include, but are not limited to the following: Excavation of all materials of whatever nature (EXCEPT TREES). Placement or disposal of excavated material. Finishing and dressing of graded surfaces.
