Demolition and site work for a residential development in Dover Foxcroft, Maine. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The Town of Dover-Foxcroft is currently requesting proposals for the demolition of residential structures located at 11 Grange Street - Multi Unit Dwelling. Scope of Work: Contractor shall remove all portions of all structures on each lot and remove the foundation down to the grade of the lot. Oil tanks must be removed and recycled which could include disposal at the town's recycling facility. Contractor shall disconnect telephone and or cable services from the structure (the town is responsible for having all other utilities disconnected i.e. water, sewer, and electric. Contractor is required to salvage any granite if present, and stockpile on site. Foundation material (non-granite) above grade may be deposited into the foundation such that the foundation wall is at least brought down to grade with the lot. The Contractor must mark perimeter of the foundation with appropriate flagging and safety barriers. The Town will be responsible for backfilling the foundation, loam and seed. It is the desire of the Town of Dover-Foxcroft (the Town) to receive proposals from qualified contractors for the demolition of the buildings and foundations to grade, and removal of all materials. The Request for Proposal (RFP) process will provide for the following steps: 1) Issuance of RFP documents, 2) Answer questions, 3) Receipt of proposals, and 4) Award of contract. Proposals shall include all permits, equipment, labor, and materials required to complete this RFP. This includes any and all demolition/disposal required for satisfactory removal. All work shall be done in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes. All materials/debris removed from the site must be disposed of at a licensed disposal facility outside of the Municipality of Dover-Foxcroft except as noted in the scope of work. The Town of Dover-Foxcroft reserves the right to reject any and all proposals in response to this RFP that are deemed not to be in the project's best interest. The Town further reserves the right to cancel or amend this RFP at any time and will notify all recipients as soon as practicable. The award of contract will be based on the qualifications of the contractor, cost of the work, and length of time to complete the demolition. The Town of Dover-Foxcroft reserves the right to refuse any or all proposals. Award of contract is expected on Monday September 23rd pending Board of Selectmen approval. Payment will be delivered after the work has been completed and the Town has inspected the final condition of the site. If the contractor has not mobilized and made substantial progress toward completing the work by Dec 31st 2024 the town may at its discretion, terminate the contract and make partial payment to the contractor pro-rated according to actual work performed.
