Site work, paving, new construction and renovation of a mixed-use development in Florence, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility; for site work for a fire / police facility; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and for the construction of a 8,800-square-foot fire / police facility.
Plans and specifications are for viewing purposes only and in order to be considered an official bidder contractors must obtain plans and specifications from Goodwyn Mills & Cawood Inc. The scope of work shall consist of all components including but not limited to the grading, drainage, paving other associated site work, and architectural work to construct an approximate 8,800 gross S.F. new Fire Station for the City of Florence Alabama. The building shall consist of two 80' apparatus bays, front office, bunk rooms, day room & kitchen, restrooms and locker rooms, storage, fitness room, training room, and radio room. The apparatus bays shall be equipped with telescoping automatic bay doors. The function of the building is an essential facility and shall be fully sprinkled with fire alarm, redundant HVAC Units, and back-up generator. Proposals shall be accompanied by a bid bond or a cashier's check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid price or $10,000 payable without recourse to the City of Florence, AL. Check or bid bond shall be provided as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds within fourteen (14) days after Notice of Award. The successful bidder shall furnish a performance bond in the amount of 100% of the contract price and payment bond in the amount of 50% of the contract price upon the forms provided. Performance and Payment Bonds shall be from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Alabama to act as surety. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities in the bids and bidding deemed to be in the best interests of the Owner, and to reject non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty days from the date set for receiving the bids. Bidders shall be required to be pre-qualified and must follow the pre-qualifications outlined in the project manual. As well, General Contractors intending to submit a bid must also provide the Architect with the Intent to Bid Form prior to the Bid Opening date.
