The person making the request will be responsible for its prompt delivery General work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials for milling streets and for resurfacing streets with bituminous asphalt according to KDOT specifications with an average of 1" to 2" or as directed by the Public Works Director and mark gate valve boxes and manhole covers. 4. Maintenance and Traffic shall be as follows: During the process of the work, when necessary, short sectional areas of the street may be closed to all traffic during paving operation. Where closing a street is necessary, a schedule shall be approved by the City. As a general rule, traffic shall be maintained and the contractor shall furnish all barricades, flagmen, etc. as are needed for safe movement of traffic. The City will arrange for temporary prohibition of curb parking as required. 9. The City reserves the right to increase or decrease the estimated amounts of materials, upon reasonable notice to contractor, or to add/increase or delete/decrease the number of streets and/or alleys to be paved. 2. The City will require at least two weeks' notice prior to beginning the paving program. This will enable the City to inform the Public in advance and help in clearing the streets of vehicles. 7.
