Martin County is seeking bids from licensed Contractors to construct twenty-four breakwaters and install approximately 2,000 feet of mangrove toe protection stones along the shore of Indian Riverside Park. The Project will also include beach escarpment restoration, demolition and removal of an existing seawall, and removal of submerged debris within the breakwater footprint. The cost estimate for this project is $2,989,800. The Indian Riverside Park Living Shoreline Project (Project) includes the construction of twenty-four breakwaters and installation of approximately 2,000 feet of mangrove toe protection stones along the shore of Indian Riverside Park. The Project will also include beach escarpment restoration, demolition and removal of an existing seawall, and removal of submerged debris within the breakwater footprint. The Project will use the combination of breakwaters and mangrove toe protection stones as well as clean sand fill to restore beach escarpment, reduce erosion, protect existing mangrove habitat, mitigate future flood impacts, and maintain recreational shoreline access.
