Metro seeks an Architectural design firm for the program verification and design of a new Emergency Communications Center to be located on a Metro owned parcel of land at 2491 Murfreesboro Pike Nashville, TN 37217 (the corner of Murfreesboro Pike and Edge O Lake Drive), TN. The ECC currently operates out of a main and backup facility. Metro intends to engage this professional firm for full architectural design services. Such design services may include, but are not limited to, civil/site, landscape, architectural, structural, interiors, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection, as well as technology, infrastructure and redundancies necessary for the facility's operations and compliance with FEMA guidelines. As part of the proposed services, specialty consultants experienced with Emergency Communications Centers, 911 facilities, and other Essential Facilities will be considered in evaluation of proposals. Requested services may also include security systems design and cost estimating. The selected A/E Consultant will become a responsible member of the Metro professional team for site evaluation and planning, program verification, design, and construction administration, helping to ensure the project is completed within budget, on-schedule, and compliant with the project program and Metro standards. A/E Consultant teams seeking to provide services shall demonstrate current experience with the design and construction or renovation of projects similar in size and scope. The A/E Agreement will be for program verification, site evaluation and planning, development of schematic, design development, construction documents, construction administration, and record drawings. Initial authorization of design services will be dependent upon current available funding, with the balance of services authorized when the balance of project funding is secured. Conceptually, the facility will encompass approximately be 110,000 gross square feet in size. Programs include an estimated 6,000 gross square feet of lobby and community space, 11,000 gross square feet of ECC Administration and Tech, 22,000 gross square feet of Operations and Training, 14,000 gross square feet of Staff Support, 10,000 gross square feet of Data Center, 22,000 gross square feet of building utilities, 2,000 gross square feet of receiving spaces, 4,000 gross square feet of 311 offices, 19,000 gross square feet of Office of Emergency Management. All programs are anticipated to have coherent adjacencies throughout three (3) floor levels. Metro will provide the awarded A/E the approved masterplan for the campus that will describe traffic flow as well as security that will be put in place.
