Saving Project...

Site work for a water / sewer project in Fairfax, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The intent of this project is to restore approximately 2,300 lf of the Accotink Creek North Fork, from Fair Woods Pkwy to Ranger Road Park. This segment of stream is impaired by bank erosion, channelization, erosion related tree loss, and limited floodplain connectivity. The project involves lowering the elevation of the stream corridor to reconnect the stream to the floodplain and realigning the stream to provide sinuosity. Two outfalls adjacent to Fair Woods Pkwy will also be restored through this project. The grade changes through the stream corridor will require significant tree removal and implementation of a robust landscaping plan. The city has obtained all required state and federal permitting, temporary construction easements on private property, and plan approval. A 3rd party firm will provide construction management and inspection services for the city. This project will provide pollutant reduction credits towards the city's Accotink Creek and Chesapeake Bay TMDLs. Question Deadline 09/26/2024 If any prospective bidder has questions about the specifications or other solicitation documents, the prospective bidder should contact the Purchasing agent whose name appears on the face of the solicitation no later than five working days before the due date. Any revisions to the solicitation will be made only by addendum issued by the Purchasing Agent. A fully completed and properly executed original Bid Bond, cashier's check, certified check, money order, or cash escrow in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid made payable to the Treasurer of the City shall accompany each bid. Bid Surety may be retained until after the award to the successful bidder is made. The Bid Surety of the successful bidder shall be retained until completion of the Contract or the posting of a Performance Bond, whichever occurs sooner. A bid submitted without a bid surety, or with a bid surety in an amount less than the required amount, shall be rejected. The posted form shall be utilized for submission of bid bonds. CONTRACT TERM: The term of the contract shall be 485 days from notice to proceed . The work to be performed under this Contract includes, but is not limited to, furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, tools, plants, seed, superintendence, transportation and performing all work in strict accordance with these Specifications and Plans. B. The term Contract Documents refers to all components of the contract including Construction Specifications (Specs) and Contract Documents (Plans). C. The Contract Documents are intended to cover a complete project. It should be distinctly understood that failure to mention any work which would normally be required to complete the project shall not relieve the Contractor of their responsibility to perform such work.
