The scope of work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary to install approximately 6,835 small water meters and AMI Modules ranging in size from 5/8-inch to and including I-inch water meters with high resolution electronic encoder registers. All water meters have been procured through a separate contract and are currently in stock in Brookline. Installation shall include removing the existing meters, registers, confirming a valid meter reading, and furnishing all incidentals required to complete installations. The Bidder hereby agrees that if selected as the Contractor it will commence work under this contract on or before a date to be fixed in the written "Notice to Proceed" given by the Owner to the Contractor and to fully complete the project within 545 consecutive days of the start date fixed in the "Notice to Proceed". Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid, in accordance with Section 00200, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in amount at least equal to one hundred per- cent (1 00%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00700 GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications. All bids for this project are subject to applicable bidding laws of Massachusetts, including General Laws Chapter 30, Section 39M as amended. Prevailing Wage Rates as determined by the Director of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development under the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27H, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Bidder, before bid opening, to request if necessary, any additional information on Prevailing Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this contract. By submission of a bid, the Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays excluded after the opening of bids. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities in bids and to reject any or all bids.
