Site work for a water / sewer project in Durham, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Project involves the furnishing of all materials, labor, equipment, tools, etc. unless otherwise specified, for the complete installation of water mains, sewer mains, stormwater drains under varies streets in Durham, including West Club Boulevard, Ninth Street, Carolina Avenue, Oakland Avenue, Oval Drive, and Hillandale Drive. The Project is defined by the Contract Documents and the major components of the Work are: 1. 6-inch, 8-inch and 12-inch water mains and appurtenances including valves and hydrants. 2. Removal and Replacement of 8-inch and 10-inch sewer mains and manholes. 3. Rehabilitating existing sanitary sewer pipes with cast-in-place liners (CIPP). 4. Rehabilitating sanitary sewer manholes with epoxy coating system. 5. Removal and replacement of water and sewer services within limits indicated. 6. Removal and replacement of 3 existing water meters with new 2" compound meters and vault. 7. Removal and Replacement of 12-inch through 30-inch stormwater drains. 8. Abandonment and removal of existing water mains, valves, manholes, sanitary sewer, and storm drains. Abandonment of existing pipes, valves and manholes shall include filling with controlled-density fill (CDF). 9. Removal, handling, transportation and disposal of rock, contaminated soil, and groundwater along the pipeline routes. 10. Restoration of all disturbed areas and utilities impacted by the work. 11. Dewatering of the existing water mains; filling, pressure/leakage testing and disinfection; dechlorination and flushing of all installed water mains. 12. Bypass pumping of the existing sewer mains; pressure/leakage testing of all installed sewer pipes. The City of Durham requires the Project to be substantially completed within 520 consecutive calendar days, and completed within 550 calendar days from date of Notice to Proceed. Bids shall be submitted under a condition of irrevocability, except as required by law, for a period of ninety (90) days after Bid opening. Each Bidder must be licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. Bidders must conform with the provisions of the North Carolina Contractor's Licensing Act of 1925, as amended. All Bids must include a non-collusion affidavit. No Bid shall be considered or accepted unless at the time of its filing the same shall be accompanied by a deposit of cash or a certified or cashier's check drawn on a bank or trust company insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the Bid. The check shall be made payable to the City of Durham. To be sure all bidders are kept up to date on any Addenda, changes, or information notices please send an email to jakers@dewberry.com indicting your intention to prepare a Bid for the Project. Failure to complete this step may render your Bid non-responsive. The City of Durham reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids, to waive any and all informalities, and to disregard all nonconforming or conditional Bids or counter Bids, and to accepts the Bid that will be in the best interest of the City of Durham.
