As part of the Bus Rapid Transit project, construction of 88-100 BRT shelters. Method of delivery will be Design-Build. The BRT Shelter Project will include three (3) types of shelters to be used at the various locations: Standard Shelters, Median Shelters for BRT Running Ways (shelters attached with canopies), and Constrained Shelter (Canopy Shelters). All shelters shall include lighting, temporary heating, cameras, and digital information displays. The shelters will include architectural, electrical, and IT components, ensuring they meet the City's standards for durability, safety, and functionality. This project is a critical component of the overall BRT system, which will enhance public transportation across Saskatoon. TIMELINE: The owner is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to provide Owner's Architect Services for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Shelter Project. The selected consultant will create the technical specifications and concept designs to assist us in creating solicitation documents (RFx), ensuring that all shelters meet the required technical thresholds. The consultant will also be responsible for reviewing submissions, providing support throughout the design and construction phases, and ensuring that all components are delivered on time and within budget. Construction/installation of the shelters will proceed in spring 2026. RFSQ process is expected to get underway by November, 2025. Further project details and schedules may be confirmed fall/winter 2024, pending award of contract. *Total estimated costs for the BRT Shelters is $40,000,000.
