Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Binghamton, New York. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Project Title: 2D Courtyard Sidewalk Renovation Summary of Work: Remove Blacktop & Concrete Walkway & replace with Wider, Concrete Walkway 2D Sidewalk Renovation The vendor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the work in a professional manner according to this scope of work and architectural drawings if supplied. Upon completion of 2D sidewalk renovation, before removal of equipment and scaffolding, contractor is to schedule a quality control and quality assurance inspection with the above-named point of contact. SCOPE OF WORK: 1. Remove existing blacktop & Concrete walkway(s) behind & alongside of 2D. 2. Remove fencing & concrete footings in lawn area, cut the post next to the 3 Bldg. just below grade. Fill holes with coarse aggregate, top off with 6" topsoil and tamp. 3. New Walkways shall be 6' wide minimum, move next to the building, remove the grass area between the existing sidewalk and the building. 4. Courtyard shall be flush under back door and generally slope towards the catch basin. 5. Concrete shall encompass the manhole covers by a minimum of 6" around them and be incorporated into the walkway surface. 6. New sidewalks shall be 5000psi air entrained concrete 4" thick with 6x6 - w2.9xw2.9 wwf (placed & held mid-slab by use of 2" reinforcement spacers). Subgrade shall be compacted with 8" minimum compacted subbase Course A1 Aggregate. See detail below - with dimensional change to a 4" thick concrete slab. 7. Substrate shall be compacted in no more than 4" lifts. 8. Walkways must rise/slope to be flush with the doors threshold at each exit. Do not exceed ADA allowable slope of 1:12 ratio or 8.33%. 9. Walkways should have a cross slope of 2% away from the building. 10. Underpin doorways a depth of 6" and install #4 rebar 12" apart under doorways beginning & ending 10" outside of every doorway +/-. Rebar shall extend 3' into the sidewalk slab. 11. Expansion joints: 1/2 " material shall be placed between perpendicular joints, and along the building edges, and every 50' of linear run. 12. Control joints shall be spaced every 6' +/- of linear walkway. 13. Edges shall be troweled with a brush finish on walking surface. 14. Sidewalk shall be sealed with waterproof mastic at building edges and expansion joints. 15. Soil grade at the edge(s) shall be level for a minimum of 16" before falling into existing grade. 16. Contractor to verify all dimensions. 17. Topsoil, grass seed & straw to be provided by this contract. 18. Spoils must be moved off-site. 19. Contractor shall warrantee work for a period of one year from date of payment for job. Warrantee shall be for parts and labor. 20. Work shall conform to all applicable codes, be done according to manufacturer's instructions, and follow industry best practices. Work is to be done between the hours of _7:00 AM__ and _5:00 PM__, Monday through Friday unless otherwise arraigned with Maintenance Supervisor in advance. No work shall be done on a State Holiday unless approved in advance by the abovenamed point of contact. Work must be completed within 45 days of receiving the purchase order. Method of Award: This is an RFQ (request for quotes). This is not an IFB (bid). The Broome DDSO intends to award the contract to the most responsible and responsive vendor that provides the lowest cost and meets the requirements detailed in the scope of work. Upon request, vendor must demonstrate 2 years of relevant experience on prior projects of similar magnitude and its subject to vendor responsibility determination. Broome DDSO reserves the right to reject all quotes. In deciding whether to submit a quote, please be aware the awarded vendor must adhere to the time frames outlined in the scope of work. The awarded vendor will also be required to submit certificates of Liability Insurance and Worker's Compensation Insurance as well as completed Lobbying Law Forms, and signed Appendix A. Please be prepared to submit these in a timely fashion. The Broome DDSO will make no concessions to the vendor for any alleged misunderstanding or deception because of quantity, quality, character, or other condition. The Broome DDSO's interpretation of specifications shall be final and binding. Please note, all staff working at the project site will be required to sign an attendance sheet for record purposes. This includes the residence visitor log and/or an attendance sheet provided by the Maintenance Department. In the event of a tie, contract will be awarded to the Contractor whose bid was received earliest. Please check your submission for arithmetic errors and correct labor wages. Broome DDSO reserves the right to reject any quote which does not reflect the correct prevailing wages in accordance with the provided wage schedule. Tabulation of quotes will be posted to the listings on NYS Contract Reporter along with the award.
