Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Geneva, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

Work generally includes removing turf, grading and installation of infield mix. Contractors bidding on the project must have a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience. The successful contractor(s) must be able to provide required proof of insurance following the award of a contract. The Geneva Park District reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities on a bid, and to accept the lowest responsible bid that serves the best interests of the Park District. No bids shall be withdrawn after the opening of the bids for a period of ninety (90) days after the bid date opening. The Geneva Park District encourages small and minority businesses and womens business firms to submit bids on the approved project and successful contract bidders to utilize small and minority businesses and womens businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction. Should bidder find any discrepancies in or omissions from any of the documents, or be in doubt, as to their meanings, he or she shall advise the Superintendent of Parks and Properties, Carl Gorra at CGorra@genevaparks.com or 630-232-0605 who will provide necessary clarification. All proposals shall be submitted on the forms provided by the Geneva Park District. All prices quoted shall constitute the gross total cost to the Park District for all labor and other incidentals incurred prior to final acceptance of Forni Park Baseball Field Infield Renovation 2024. Superintendent of Parks and Properties Phone: (630) 699-9276 or Email: cgorra@genevaparks.com It is the responsibility of the bidder before submitting a bid to (1) thoroughly examine Contract Documents; (2) visit the site to field verify dimensions and conditions at the Work Locations by making a personal inspection of the premises; (3) fully understand the scope and magnitude of the Work and to confirm its ability to supply the labor, equipment and materials necessary to properly perform the Work; and (4) consider federal, state, and local laws and regulations that may affect cost, progress, performance or furnishing of the Work. The submission of a bid indicates the willingness and ability of the bidder to perform the Work under and in strict accordance with the terms and conditions of the Specifications and General Conditions included in the Bid Documents. The Park District will not accept changes to bids based on a bidder's mistake of fact which could have been corrected prior to submitting a bid. 1) Correct the pitch of the field. Currently, much of the infield slopes toward home plate. The renovated field will be crowned to have water shed toward sidelines and outfield as well. Grades may need to be raised up four inches across the infield to achieve this goal. 2) The existing turf areas of the infield and sidelines will need to have sod stripped, be rototilled and pulverized topsoil brought in to establish a proper grade. The sideline areas along first and third base line will be returned to grass and therefore will need to be re-sodded with a District approved athletic field type sod. (See Appendix A) 3) The infield will be converted to a "skinned" infield and will therefore be brought up to grade, but not sodded in. 4) The top two (minimum) to three inches of the finished field infield mix will be that of MarCo Clay Washington Mix. Geneva Park District will supply six semi loads of this material to be delivered to the site. 5) Existing ball field infield mix may be used as a sub base for the Washington Mix. 6) The outfield/infield arc radius will be brought into standard for an 80' field. This may require removing or adding sod as necessary
