The Project scope includes removal of a chiller at the Dana Rd / VIS school and installation of a new chiller in that location. An alternate bid is also requested for removal and replacement of the 2nd chiller at that school and is funded by ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) Federal Funding. Project Location: Dana Road Elementary: 1247 Dana Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180. The Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below. Bid proposals must be delivered in a sealed envelope marked plainly on the outside of the envelope with the following: "Vicksburg Warren School District - Dana Road/VIS Chiller Project; Project number 24061 to be opened September 27, 2024" Envelope shall be addressed to Dr. Toriano Holloway, Superintendent of Schools, Vicksburg Warren School District, 1500 Mission 66, Vicksburg, MS. 39180. In addition, the envelope shall list the bidder's Company name, Company address and all applicable state and local license and registration numbers of the bidder. Envelopes not so marked are submitted at the risk of the bidder as the Owner and Architect assume no responsibility for the premature opening of any bid envelope by any employee of the Owner or Architect. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows: Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank proposal forms provided with the specifications and must be accompanied by Proposal Security in the form of a Certified Check or acceptable Bid Bond in the amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the Base Bid: such security to be forfeited as liquidated damages, not penalty, by any bidder who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute a contract and post-Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and amount within the time specified. The Bid Bond, if used, shall be payable to the Owner. Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud. All bids submitted in excess of $50,000 by a prime or Subcontractor to do any erection, building, construction, repair, maintenance, or related work must comply with the Mississippi Contractors Act of 1985, by securing a Certificate of Responsibility from the State Board of Contractors. Bid security shall be submitted with each bid in the amount of 5 percent of the bid amount. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 90 days after opening of bids. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities and irregularities.
