Project Description: The purpose of this study is to develop viable, safe, connected, and cost-effective solutions to the project and to study the feasibility of alternatives to improve operational safety, congestion, access management and pedestrian connectivity for all roadway users, while also preparing the proposed project for advancement to the Preliminary Engineering phase. The East-West Connector Corridor Improvements project encompass 9.3 miles from Powder Springs Road to Cumberland Parkway at the Interstate 285 overpass. Corridor improvements and capacity segments are included in the Cobb Countys CobbForward Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP 2050) and the Atlanta Regional Commissions (ARCs) Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). The planned project will improve pedestrian safety, connectivity, and transit options along the corridor. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
