Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in East Chicago, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
This project generally consists of providing all materials, equipment and labor necessary for the construction, installation and testing of new copper water service, meter, meter pit (if applicable), buffalo box, valve box and service shutoff valve, restoration of pavement and landscaping, and interior restoration as required. A certified check/bank draft drawn on a solvent bank, payable without condition to the East Chicago Department of Waterworks, or a bid bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid shall be submitted with each proposal as a guarantee that, if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into and the performance of the contract is properly secured. A Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in a sum equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the bid with sureties to be approved by the East Chicago Department of Waterworks, must be furnished by the successful bidder. The right is reserved to reject any or all proposals, to waive technicalities, to postpone the bid opening, or to advertise for new proposals, if in the judgment of the East Chicago Department of Waterworks their best interests will be promoted thereby.
