Site work and renovation of a civil project in Carlsbad, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The Leucadia Wastewater District (referred to as District or Owner) is requesting bids from qualified contractors for the Owner's Batiquitos Pump Station Emergency Basin Rehabilitation Project (Project) which includes all items necessary to complete the Work in its entirety. The Work generally entails: Preparing the emergency basin for demolition work; maintaining pump station service; demolishing miscellaneous hatches, piping, and appurtenances and salvaging items where specified; demolishing existing concrete walls and ceiling surfaces; repairing and restoring the existing concrete walls and ceiling; filling in penetrations; replacing access hatches; installing a salvaged pump, pedestal, railing and appurtenances; installing a sanitary plumbing drain line; installing a pump discharge line and installing salvaged pipe supports; installing a coating system on the restored walls and ceiling; installing additional miscellaneous field painting; maintaining site drainage, temporary facilities, lighting, environmental controls, access, security; implementing shoring and bracing; implementing traffic control if required; restoring disturbed areas and surface improvements to original conditions; and all miscellaneous work as shown, specified and directed. The work will be located at the Owner's Batiquitos Pump Station located at 2017 Carlsbad Boulevard, Carlsbad, CA 92009. Bids shall be executed on the forms contained in the Contract Documents and in accordance with the instructions contained therein. Bid security, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid dollar amount, is required to be submitted with each bid. The bidder to whom the award is made will be required to furnish a payment bond and a faithful performance bond. Pursuant to Section 1771 of the California Labor Code, the successful bidder shall pay not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. Copies of such prevailing rate of per diem wages may be obtained from California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Division of Labor Statistics and Research, (415) 703-4774 or may be available online. The Contractor shall post a copy of such determination at each job site. Bidders and all proposed subcontractor(s) must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations in accordance with Section 1725.5 of the Labor Code at the time of the bid submittal and must continue to be registered at all times they are engaged in the performance of work on the Contract. Pursuant to Section 22300 of the California Public Contract Code, the Contractor may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the Owner to ensure performance of the work. Procedures shall be as provided in Section 22300. All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be directed to the Owner's project manager. It shall be understood, however, that no Specification interpretations may be made by telephone nor may any of "or equal" items be considered for approval during the bid period. In implementing this preference, the firms must be responsible and responsive and the services, materials, or work must be of comparable quality. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality or irregularity in a bid, and to make awards in the interest of the Owner. Pursuant to the requirements under Permits and Licenses in the Information for Bidders of the bidding documents, bidders shall be Class A licensed in the classification of General Engineering Contracting as of the date of submittal of the bid documents. All questions regarding the bid are due by 5:00 p.m. (local) time Wednesday, September 04, 2024. Questions submitted after that date will not be considered.
