https://www.bizjournals.com/washington/news/2025/03/20/therme-poplar-point-dc-wellness-resort-anacostia.html Before any development can start at Poplar Point, D.C. must first unlock the federal site from the National Park Service, as prescribed by the D.C. Lands Act adopted by Congress in 2006. That will require the certification of an ongoing environmental assessment and land use plan, then the design and off-site construction of new facilities for both the park service and the U.S. Park Police, both of which have facilities there. ________________ https://www.bizjournals.com/washington/news/2025/01/30/bridge-district-redbrick-lmd-development-anacostia.html The company in June inked a 99-year lease with the Navy for a 15-acre site on the west side of the Anacostia River closest to the 11th Street Bridge. It plans a waterfront development that’s likely to include a mix of retail, restaurant and multifamily. The deal, valued at $3.1 million, is part of a more complex land swap in which the Navy sought to regain control of another part of the naval base where it plans to build a new museum. ____________________ https://www.bizjournals.com/washington/news/2025/01/09/dc-business-2025-stories-people.html Rahsaan Bernard and Scott Kratz are behind the nonprofit developing the 11th Street Bridge Park.
