Rehabilitation and replacement of the Joseph-Samson dam gate (POA187369). Construction work to rehabilitate and bring up to standard the Joseph-Samson dam and related equipment; repairs to the dam and automate the vertical gates so that it can be fully opened, including all the ancillary work involved in carrying out the project. The dam is built under the Joseph-Samson bridge, and a railway bridge is located a few metres upstream from the bridge. The work will be taking place in a busy part of the city, where waterways, cycle paths and motor vehicles cross. Safety around the site during the works will be a priority for the City. The construction work covered by this contract notice is aimed at rehabilitating the dam and bringing it up to standard. Here is a brief description of the work planned: replacement and optimization of the central bottom gate with two automated vertical gates, allowing full opening; replacement of the tide gates; addition of four regulating gates (valves) to manage low-water flows and ensure the passage of aquatic fauna; rehabilitation and/or reconstruction of the slab and walls of the dam openings; installation of a new control building, a new power supply and a new remote control system, as well as the installation of a connection for a portable electric generator to power the dam in emergency mode; replacement of all access walkways; replacement of public protection and safety elements; remote control and telemetry of the dam and maintaining physical security with the installation of cameras.
