Reference number: 20016581 Deadline for receipt of complaints: 2024-09-30 Société d'habitation du Québec (SHQ) is issuing a call for qualifications to structure the development of highly prefabricated multi-family housing units for low- and moderate-income households and people with special housing needs. The call is based on a general project development strategy developed by the SHQ, as well as on the Quebec Housing Strategy - Building for Better Housing. In this way, the SHQ has developed an optimized planning process that enables a better upstream match between the capacity of the industrialized construction market and the pressing need to fill a significant housing shortage. To respond to this call for qualifications, interested companies will have to form consortia including a manufacturer-builder, a contractor, an architectural firm and at least one consulting engineering firm. Following the signing of a collaborative framework agreement, the selected consortia will be required to develop highly prefabricated and adaptable standardized reference real estate solutions. The real estate solutions proposed by the consortia will then be meshed with projects to be carried out by eligible applicants in order to finalize the design and build 500 housing units by March 2026, divided into several buildings, and, subject to the necessary approvals, a further 500 by March 2027.
