Site work for a water / sewer project in Portsmouth, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Update: The Department of Public Utilities operates three low pressure transmission mains that convey water from the Lake Kilby Water Treatment Plant in Suffolk, 23 miles into Portsmouth. These mains were constructed in 1888, 1906 and 1950. This project provides for a plan to evaluate the remaining life of these mains and address the best way to provide for the transmission of current and future city water demand in a phased, affordable manner. Total replacement may cost in excess of $60 million dollars. Project is included in City of Portsmouth Fiscal Year 2026-2030 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: https://www.portsmouthva.gov/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/4501 The Department of Public Utilities operates three low pressure transmission mains that convey water from the Lake Kilby Water Treatment Plant in Suffolk, 23 miles into Portsmouth.
