As of October 2, 2024, bids received were rejected. Project will rebid but no definite date yet. The scope of this project includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the construction of a new single story 7,200 square foot pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) to be used for servicing school buses and related CUSD 1 fleet vehicles. Work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, demolition of existing site concrete and utilities, site clearing, construction of new PEMB with standing seam roofing, metal wall panel cladding, concrete foundations and interior slab-on-grade, interior wood stud framing, architectural finishes, casework, doors, windows, plumbing, HVAC, electrical power and lighting, exterior concrete paving, earthwork, soil stabilization, exterior concrete paving, chip-and-seal paving, prefabricated shelters and foundations, relocation of existing fuel tanks, new water service, new natural gas service, and new electrical service. The Edwards County CUSD 1 Board reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or waive informality or errors in bidding, to award the contract to their interests, and to hold the bids for a period of fourteen (14) days from the bid date. Lump Sum Bids will be received for the following: CONTRACT NO. 1: Complete Construction. Contractors receiving award shall be required to furnish an approved Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond for one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount which shall be in full force and effect for twelve (12) months from date of acceptance of the work. Bonds shall be furnished within ten (10) days after written notice to proceed with the work. A certified check or bank draft, payable to Edwards County CUSD 1, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. Should the bidder withdraw his bid within fourteen (14) days after bid date without written consent of the Owner, or fail to execute a satisfactory contract including performance bond within ten (10) days after the written notice to proceed, the Owner may declare the bid deposit forfeited as liquidated damages. Contractors and subcontractors are notified that they are required to pay no less than the Illinois Department of Labor Prevailing Wage Standards set forth and approved by the Illinois Department of Labor and enclosed in the Project Manual. The Contractor of Award will be required to submit monthly Certified Payroll Reports for the entire project.
