Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Bernardsville, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
No bids will be accepted after said hour. The work to be performed under this contract within a portion of Lot 2 in Block 35 adjacent to turf field includes but not limited to the construction of drainage; approximately 285 feet of 15" HDPE pipe, 7 drainage structures; 265 tons of porous asphalt walkways around sports field, earthwork, striping topsoil, grading, unclassified excavation, 4 feet high segmental block retaining wall, and fencing and related appurtenances. An alternate bid will also be received for the installation of underdrain system for the porous asphalt which consist of approximately 1,690 linear feet of 4" HDPE perforated pipe, embedded with clean stone and fabric and approximately 70 feet of HDPE solid pipe. All bidders must bid on the Alternate Bid. The contractor is responsible for providing all labor, supervision, trade skills, material and equipment required for this project as described in the construction documents. The contract will allow 90 calendar days for completion of the work from the notice to proceed. The Borough shall reserve the right to award the Base Bid or to reject all bids in accordance with the Local Public Contracts Law. Contract Documents, Plans, Specifications and proposal forms for the proposed work prepared by Antoine Hajjar, PE, PP, Borough Planner are on file and open to the public for inspection at the Municipal Building, 166 Mine Brook Road, Bernardsville, New Jersey 07924, (908) 766-3000 ext. 142, between the hours of 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM prevailing time, Monday through Friday, excluding holidays beginning on September 5, 2024. Bids must be made on standard proposal forms in the manner designated therein, and required by the specifications, must be enclosed in sealed envelopes, bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, addressed to the Borough of Bernardsville, Municipal Building, 166 Mine Brook Road, Bernardsville New Jersey 07924 and must be accompanied by a Non-Collusion Affidavit and a Bid Bond or Certified Check for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, providing said check or bid bond need not be more than $20,000.00 nor shall not be less than $500.00, together with a Surety Consent evidencing that performance bond can be obtained and received by mail or hand delivered in person to the Borough Clerk's office located at 166 Mine Brook Road, Bernardsville, New Jersey 07924. The envelope must also identify the Bid as Polo Grounds Walkway & Drainage Improvements. The successful Bidder will be required to deliver to the Owner an executed Performance Bond and Payment Bond of a responsible indemnity company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. The Borough of Bernardsville reserves the right to consider bids for sixty (60) days after their receipt. The right is reserved to waive any informalities, to accept bids which it deems most favorable to the interest of the Borough to make an award on each item separately or as a whole and to accept any Bid or to reject any or all Proposals in accordance with the Specifications and the Bid forms. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project. An Alternate Bid will also be received for 1690 linear feet of perforated pipe for undraining the porous asphalt of the path.
