Priority Repairs of Central Avenue Bridge Over Patcong Creek in Egg Harbor Township The project consists of priority repairs and reconstruction of the deck wearing surface to the Central Avenue Bridge (EH-11) over Patcong Creek in the Township of Egg Harbor & City of Linwood. The three (3) priority repairs were identified in the bridge inspection on March 26, 2019 and consist of the following: o Heavy scaling to the south end of the east abutment. o Heavy scaling to the south end of the west abutment. o Large spall to thew underside of the deck at the east end of bay 7. In addition the work consists concrete encasement spall repairs including cleaning and painting exposed steel before spall repairs, reconstruction of the deck wearing surface, the replacement of a masonry retaining wall located within the right of way of Central Avenue adjacent to a historic property (Block 5507 Lots 1 & 2) and temporary soil erosion and sediment control measures. The wall retains fill along Central Avenue for the historic property. Major work items: Retaining Wall, Stone Strong Systems or equivalent, replacement of existing guide rail, Hot Mix Asphalt 12.5M64 Base Course, Variable Thickness, Concrete Underdeck Repair, Type B, Concrete Encasement Repair and Concrete Abutment Repair, Type B. Traffic control will be alternating in only one direction of travel along Central Avenue at a time, unless otherwise approved by the Township Engineer.
