Prequalification Submittals will be received at the Office of the Architect, Lathan Associates Architects, P.C., 300 Chase Park South, Suite 200, Hoover, AL 35244, until 12:00 p.m., local time, on Friday, February 7, 2025. Call 205-988-9112 for Application Form with Pre-Qualifying Conditions, office hours and directions. General Contractors are required to pre-qualify prior to requesting Bid Documents. Minimum General Contractors qualifications to be certified by prospective bidders include: 1) statutory license requirements, 2) bonding capacity of at least $1,000,000.00 and 3) successful recent history as General Contractor on Education Projects of comparable scope and complexity. The Owner will accept bids only from approved General Contractors. The Owner and its representatives shall be the sole judge of the Contractor meeting the requirements set forth. The Owners decision in determining qualified General Contractors will be final. The Owner reserves the right to act in his best interest in this process and can waive all technicalities and informalities to determine the best responsible General Contractors to participate in bidding this project. A cashiers check or bid bond payable to Alabama Community College System in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000.00, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance as required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
