Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Regina, Saskatchewan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a day care center; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

PRODUCT NUMBER: YM11769 The Wascana Daycare, located at 3809 wibazuka Road at the University of Regina Main Campus in Regina, SK is looking to install a gazebo in the hardscaped area to the North of the splash pad in their playground area (see photo attached). This RFQ is for the construction of the required foundation footings. The gazebo is a 12' x 12' prefabricated unit which has been purchased and will be installed by RONA following construction. The successful contractor will be responsible to complete the following: Site preparation including removal of any playground equipment from the work area, to be stored for reuse. Layout of foundations based on footprint supplied through installatios instructions. Excavation for foundations, no heavy equipment permitted for this scope. There may be irrigation or electrical in the area which would need to be hand exposed (1st call has been initiated). Existing pea gravel to be salvaged for replacement of backfill at completion. Compaction of structure below foundation. Forming and pouring foundations to suit engineered drawings. Foundations to be set level to one another, level with the existing concrete pad if utilizing this for one side of the gazebo (discussed below). Concrete to be confirmed to strength requirement. Form stripping, backfill, site cleanup, and equipment relocation. We are currently looking into the possibility of having part of the gazebo anchored to the existing concrete slab, effectively reducing the number of footings required to 2. Please have an alternate price or cost savings provided if only two footings were required. Development Permit received from Provincial Capital Commission available upon request. UofR Terms and Conditions are as follows: The Contractor is an independent Contractor and nothing in this agreement shall be construed as rendering the Contractor an employee, servant or agent of the University. The laws of the Province of Saskatchewan shall be governed by the agreement and the Contractor shall comply with all legislation affecting the work. Unless otherwise authorized, the Contractor shall give all notices, obtain all required permits, and pay all fees, taxes and duties. The Contractor shall provide appropriate site superintendence and co-ordination of sub-trades. The Contractor shall ensure that appropriate traffic, fire, health, safety and environmental precautions are taken with regard to the work and the work site. The Contractor shall comply with University policies regarding prevention of sexual harassment and violence. The Contractor shall provide necessary protection to prevent damage to the work and University property and shall repair any damage that he has caused at his expense. The Contractor warrants materials and workmanship for a period of one year from completion of the work. Unless otherwise authorized, all materials shall be new, and workmanship shall be of the quality best suited for the purpose required.
