Renovation and expansion of the existing school, comprised of a 3,279 m2 addition and 96 m2 of renovation of the existing building as library to serve as the Curve Lake First Nation School and administrative offices, as determined by the Program Requirement. Space eligible for ISC funding under the School Space Accommodation Standards (SSAS) 2023 is 2,561 m2 (inclusive of 167.5 m2 of mechanical space) with the remaining 814 m2 to be cost shared by the First Nation. The existing 728 m2 school will be renovated to serve the Early Learning Centre, with 96 m2 of this space serving as the school library. Curve Lake First Nation is located on a peninsula situated between Buckhorn Lake, Harrington Narrows, and Chemong Lake. It is classified as a Zone 1 community, indicating that it is located within 50 km of the nearest service centre with year-round road access. Space within the current building is comprised of 4 classrooms; principal / administrative office; reception area; two equipment storage rooms; gymnasium; library / computer room; resource office; staff room; 2 student washrooms; 1 staff washroom; mechanical and electrical service room; and a janitorial storage area.
