Site work and paving for a civil project in Pikangikum, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; and water / sewer project.

* No bid amount to be released for publication. The purpose of this Prequalification is to seek out interested parties with similar project experience in size and scope to assist in short listing qualified general contractors for when the Tender call proceeds to posting. Whitefeather Forest Community Resource Management Authority (WFCRMA) and Pikangikum First Nation (PFN) invites interested General Contractors (GCs) to submit relevant qualification information as it relates to the construction of a Engineered Timber Bridge Project. It is the intention of the owners to short-list GCs, through evaluation of the Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) submissions. The Pre-Qualified GCs will then have the opportunity to submit bids for construction of the Berens River Bridge Project when this Tender is made available. Due to the complexity of work, the Owners are looking for firms that have previous relevant experience or other directly transferrable experience. Proponents that apply must have relevant experience as a general contractor working on bridges, and other previous relevant and directly transferrable experiences could be an asset. The Berens River Bridge project falls within the Whitefeather Forest area in the administrative District of Red Lake in the Northwest Region of the Ontario. The site is located at the Berens River crossing known as Dogrib Falls approximately 10 km south east of the community of Pikangikum and approximately 110km north of Red Lake along the Nungesser Road. This bridge project will service multiple remote Zone 4 first nation communities. The community of Pikangikum is accessible via Nungesser Rd to Taxi Bay for water taxi and barge services seasonally during the summer months and ice/winter road access during the winter months. The community is also accessible year-round via aircraft. Based on the Design work completed to date by Stantec Consulting Ltd. (Stantec), the construction of an engineered timber bridge to the site and associated infrastructure is proposed. The project generally involves the construction of a 4 span +210m long 2-Lane timber Bridge over an existing water crossing, approximately 500m long bridge approach roadway construction, site works. The project is scheduled to receive funding from the Federal Government through Indigenous Services Canada. The Ontario government also announced its plan to partner with WFCRMA and the Government of Canada on the project. Question Deadline 10/04/2024 at 12:00 PM ET Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com
