Renovation of a residential development in Saugus, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The Project consists of but not limited to: Base Bid: (Buildings 101-106, 107-112, 113-118 & Community Center (13,007 Total SF) & Alternate Bid: (Buildings 119124, 125-129, 130-145 (12,316 Total SF): The existing steep-sloped architectural shingle roofing systems are to be removed utilizing a "tear-off" application. The shingle roofing systems, including all flashings shall be removed to the existing sheathing. Wet and/or deteriorated underlying plywood decking shall be removed. A new metal drip edge is to be installed at all roof edges. Gutters, downspouts, rake and eave trim is to be removed and replaced at Community Center only. The construction will be administered using BidDocs' construction software paid for by the Awarding Authority or Prime Designer. The work is estimated to cost $227,000.00. General bids and sub-bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit that is not less than five (5%) of the greatest possible bid amount (including all alternates) and made payable to the SAUGUS HOUSING AUTHORITY. Note: A bid deposit is not required for Projects advertised under $50,000. Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for review at website (may be viewed and downloaded electronically at no cost). General bidders must agree to contract with minority and women business enterprises as certified by the Supplier Diversity Office (SDO), formerly known as SOMWBA. The combined participation benchmark reserved for such enterprises shall not be less than 13% of the final contract price including accepted alternates. Request for waivers must be sent to EOHLC (david.mcclave@mass.gov) 5 calendar days prior to the General Bid date. NO WAIVERS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER THE GENERAL BIDS ARE OPENED.
