The purpose and intent of this solicitation is to obtain sealed competitive bids to furnish all labor, materials, tools, and equipment, for the removal and replacement of two underground fuel storage tanks (UST), in accordance with all terms, conditions, and specifications contained herein. Prevailing wage shall apply to the Work. Bidders must bid on both sites to be considered for award. 1.1.1. Site 1: Fairfax County Greater Springfield Fire Station (C022) Fuel Site located at 7011 Backlick Road, Springfield VA 22150. (ref. Site 1 Technical Specifications p24-28) 1.1.2. Site 2: Fairfax County Adult Detention Center Fuel Site located at 10600 Page Avenue, Fairfax 22030. (ref. The term "Engineer," "Project Engineer," or similar terms refer to the Owner's representative for technical specifications contract coordination. 1. One (1) 500-gallon double walled tank and one (1) 2000 gallons tank both (ACT-100U Type II) underground vehicle fuel tanks. 2. It must have 30-year warranty. The interior tank lining must pass a 15,000-volt spark test before shipment and written documentation must be provided to the County before installation. 3. Provide and install two five-gallon overspill containment basin - 1 per diesel tank (one gasoline tank for fill and one for vapor recovery. All are to have drains. 4. The new tank dimensions are to be approximately for the 500-gallon gasoline tank a diameter of 4ft and length of 5 feet 5 inches. For the 2000-gallon diesel tank the dimensions are to be approximately 5 feet 4 inches in diameter and 12 feet in length. There will be no pre-bid conference for this IFB.
