The Jefferson County Commission Roads and Transportation Department is Seeking Bids for "Geopolymer Lining, Culvert Cleaning and Video Inspection Services." the Commission Desires to Establish a Contract for the Culvert Rehabilitation in-place Services for Geopolymer Lining Existing Culverts on an Annual Basis. The Jefferson County Commission Roads and Transportation Department desires to establish a contract for 2024 GEOPOLYMER LINING CULVERT REHABILITATION IN-PLACE SERVICES for existing culverts. The work consists of cleaning, video inspection and geopolymer pipe lining. The culvert rehabilitation operation may also include grout repair, pump bypassing and traffic control. The awarded vendor/contractor must begin work within fourteen (14) days, after being notified of the culvert sites. The contractor will be responsible for traffic control in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and shall inform the County 48 hours before mobilization of the contractor. Any detours must be submitted to the Traffic Engineer for approval. Contracted work hours will be from dawn to dusk 6:00 a.m. (CDT) till 8:00 p.m. (CDT). Alabama Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, 2022 Edition and Special Provisions will be used for the project. The contract shall be effective on the date of contract approval by the County and expire on September 30, 2026. The purpose of this meeting is to provide clarification on any questions a potential bidder may have with regard to the plans and/or specifications. All bidding questions must be submitted via the project solicitation on Bid Express by Friday, September 27, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. Responses to questions will be provided by Jefferson County by 5:00PM local time, on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024 Certified check or bid bond for 5 percent of total bid, made payable to the Commission of Jefferson County must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. The maximum per contract is $10,000 for bids under $500,000 or $50,000 per contract for bids $500,000 or more. The Bid Bond shall be forfeited to Jefferson County, Alabama, as liquidated damages if the BIDDER fails to execute the Contract and provide Performance and Payment Bondswithin ten (10) days after being notified of the County's intent to award the Contract. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, or any part of any bid, and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bid.
