As of March 26, 2025, this project is in the design phase. Construction will begin in 2026. Sammamish Plateau Water (aka Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District or District) is seeking proposals from consultants to provide design services for the construction of a ground level 8MG water storage tank, and associated 3,000-gpm booster station, to provide additional storage to meet the peak summer demand. The proposals shall be limited to twelve 8-1/2 x 11 pages, including cover letter but excluding resumes. The consultant will prepare complete Project plans, specifications, and contract documents (using the District's standard contract documents) needed for the design and construction of: o A new 8MG water storage facility with a diameter of 140-ft and an overflow height of 70-ft. o A 3,000-gpm booster station located either at the tank site or on the west end of the property. o Transmission mains with a minimum pipe diameter of 16-inches to connect the tank and booster station to the distribution system within 228th Avenue SE. o Electrical and communication lines for operation of the installed facilities. o Access road(s) as required for the proposed facilities. The design will address: o 30%, 60%, 90% Permit and 100% designs o Engineering Estimate to be provided at the 30% and 90% designs o Wetland study including a survey and analysis of the wetlands and wetland buffers. The work will address any local, state and federal permits or approvals, in addition to preparing all materials for approval from those agencies. o Permitting with the City of Sammamish o Clearing of the existing site. o Storm water treatment and detention. o Landscaping design including a tree survey, as required for permitting and visual screening of the new facilities. o Sound impacts from both construction and ongoing operations, specifically from operation of the booster station. o Review and design of site security measures and access for operation and maintenance. o Visual impacts of the project to the neighboring properties including shadows. The consultant will also review the impacts to the District, its property, and the Project site by the construction of a public road connecting 231st Avenue NE to 231st Avenue SE.
