The objective of this project is to design a culinary water well near Pony Express Parkway. It is anticipated that this well be capable of providing up to 5,000 gpm. The design of the well should be consistent with other existing wells currently operated by the City. Safety measures such as security fencing and yard lighting will be incorporated in the design and construction of the proposed wellhouse. The well is expected to consist of a deep well system. The Engineer will make recommendations to the City on the type of pump and motor, drill shaft casing requirements, location of screens, pumping depth and possibly other criteria to be evaluated prior to the design of this well. Well design should include a masonry well house structure, pumps, motors, SCADA system, pump to waste, chlorination if needed based on pumping data, and piping required to connect to existing distribution system. The City also reserves the right to waive all informalities or technicality in any bid or proposal in the interest of the City not involving price, time, or changes in the Work and to negotiate contract terms with the Successful Bidder. The city has the sole discretion and reserves the right to cancel this RFP, and to waive any and all informalities and/or irregularities, or to re-advertise with either the identical or revised specifications, if it is deemed to be in the city's best interests to do so.
