The selected contractor shall install and make operational a fully functional security system that will incorporate an Intrusion Detection System (IDS). The system shall be Underwriters Laboratory (UL) rated. The IDS shall be monitored by the appropriate Federal Protective Service (FPS) Megacenter Monitoring Station. Installation of cabling equipment, testing and training associated with the security system shall be included. Work shall be coordinated with the General Contractor and other Sub Contractors to meet the intended construction schedule. Under normal circumstances it is required that the system will be operational at least one week before occupying the space. Vendor will provide user training for the IDS, along with all user manuals, software if applicable, and keys for all systems. This summary applies to the procurement, installation, training and implementation of an integrated security management system for the site described. The contractor shall furnish a complete system including all labor, materials and equipment for a complete and functional integrated security system. Use of subcontractors and/or other vendors to install and maintain any or all of the security system(s) (other than cabling, conduit, and power) must be approved in advance by DEA Headquarters, Physical Security Section. GSA or open market pricing shall be used, whichever is more advantageous to DEA.
