Community College District 509, Elgin Community College, Kane County, IL, will receive sealed bids from interested trade contractors for 04A-2 Masonry, 06A-2 General Trades, 07A-2 Roofing, 08B-2 Aluminum, Glass, and Glazing, 09A-2 Drywall, 09D-2 Acoustical Ceiling, 09F-2 Flooring, 09G-2 Painting, 21A-2 Fire Protection, 22A-2 Plumbing, 23A-2 HVAC, 23B-2 Test and Balance, 26A-2 Electrical, and 32F-2 Landscaping for the Elgin Community College - New Manufacturing & Technology Center. SCOPE OF WORK The project includes but is not limited to the construction of a 155,000 SF building for the new manufacturing and technology center and associated site work. A Bid Bond or Certified Check in the amount of 10% of the bid is to accompany the proposal. The successful bidder must furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond and Certificate of Insurance within ten (10) days of the award of the contract. This Project is Tax Exempt. Payment of Prevailing Wages is required for this project. An overall Business Enterprise Program (BEP) Goal of 28% has been determined with 18% of grant dollars going to minority-owned business enterprises (MBEs or WMBEs) and 10% of grant dollars going to women-owned business enterprises (WBEs or WMBEs). These utilization goals are based on the availability of State-certified vendors to perform the anticipated direct subcontracting opportunities of the Utilization Plan (UP). Only subcontractors/suppliers certified through the State of Illinois' Commission on Equity and Inclusion (CEI) Business Enterprise Program will count toward meeting the utilization goals for this grant.
