Question Deadline 09/26/2024 at 10:00 AM CT Contract Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity. A Bid Bond is not required for this solicitation. The Awarded vendor will be required to provide a Performance Bond as indicated on Attribute #4. Overview: The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for the removal and replacement of the existing roof at the Sloan Maintenance Garage as per the attached drawings and specifications. The project consists of removing existing modified roof membrane and insulation system, including downspouts and gutters and replacing with new blocking, vapor barrier, insulation, cover board and EPDM membrane system, downspouts and gutters. Estimated Start Date: October 15, 2024. The estimated start date for ONSITE work is May 5, 2025. (Start date to be coordinated with the DOT Project Manager. This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract) Estimated Completion Date: August 1, 2025 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in constructions bids). Project Timeline: Start and completion dates listed in this solicitation are desired dates. Bidders are welcome to propose other reasonable dates for DOT consideration based on but not limited to; lead time for materials, beginning or ends of seasonal periods, coordination and availability of subcontractors. If new dates are proposed, please see attribute #10. Communication: Until a contract is awarded the sole point of contact for the solicitation is the Purchasing Agent identified in the solicitation.
