Grass Cutting and Beautification of City Thoroughfares The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Canton, Mississippi are requesting proposals from businesses, firms, or corporations to assist the City of Canton with grass cutting and beautification of City thoroughfares during grass growing months only or from February to November only. The Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Canton reserve the right to reject any and all Proposal(s). Mailing Address: City Hall, City Clerk's Office Post Office Box 605, Canton, MS 39046- 605 Physical Address: City Hall, City Clerk's Office 226 East Peace Street, Canton, MS 39046 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION LAWN EQUIPMENT Any interested bidder, shall have and maintain his own lawn care equipment during the course and scope of any work performed pursuant to this RFQ. SCOPE OF WORK The City submits that the monthly work performed is estimated to cost no more than $5,000/month. In addition, shall Contractor need additional supplies; like straw, and flowers for beautification; prior approval by the City of Canton shall be required. Said required approval, shall be by Contractor and approved through the City's purchasing policy and claims docket. RESPONDENT SUPPLIED MATERIALS Any written material submitted in response to this proposal will become the property of the City of Canton. Information supplied will be confidential only to the extent allowed by applicable law relating to disclosure of public records. MULTIPLE PROPOSAL Any major variations or alternatives to the primary proposal should be presented as an alternate proposal. Such proposals should follow the same instruction and format as the primary proposals but need include only information which differs from the primary proposal. REJECTION OF PROPOSAL The City reserves the right to reject any and all proposals submitted in response to this RFP, or to cancel, in part or in its entirety, this request. The City reserves the right to require any additional information it may deem appropriate. The City has the right to waive any irregularities in the proposal. All proposals will become the property of the City and will not be returned. The City, at its discretion, may also use any non-propriety information contained therein. The City will not be responsible for the payment of any expenses by offeror incurred as a result of responding to the proposal, including any subsequent pre-contractual Interview(s). The Offeror agrees to participate in good faith in subsequent contract negotiations, as the City of Canton acknowledges that it is not required to submit an RFP for services as identified herein. INSURANCE The Contractor will secure and maintain, and furnish to the City, a copy of insurance general liability in the aggregate amount of $500,000, and will agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the City, Mayor and Board of Aldermen, City's agents and employees from and against all claims, damage, losses, and expenses; including but not limited to, attorney's fees arising out of, resulting from, or related to the agreement or services provided herein including, without limitation, any bodily injury, sickness, disease, death, or injury to or destruction of tangible or intangible property, including the loss of use resulting therefrom that is caused by the Contractor, or anyone for whose acts may be liable. A Certificate of Insurance evidencing such policies must be furnished to the City with the signed contract. Said certificate must specifically indicate that the insurance policies will give the City at least sixty (60) days written notice in the event of cancellation, non-renewal, or of material change in any part of the policy. The Contractor shall not commence work under this contract until the Contractor has obtained all insurance required under this section and such insurance has been approved by the City Attorney.
