Renovation of a fire / police facility in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

Reference Number: 0000362997 The work generally includes, but is not limited to the following: Furnish and install labor, roofing materials, insulation, flashings, and incidentals for replacing the roof at the Police Headquarters - Bid Bond 5 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Payment Bond 100 % Bid Bond: Vendors responding to this solicitation must furnish, with their bid proposals, either a bid bond from a surety licensed to conduct business in the State of Rhode Island or a certified check payable to the City of Woonsocket in the amount of five percent (5%) of the vendor's cost proposal. Project Components: The work generally includes, but is not limited to the following: Furnish and install labor, roofing materials, insulation, flashings, and incidentals for several designated roof areas including City Hall, Fire Station #4, Harris Library and the Museum of Work & Culture. Prevailing Wages: In accordance with RI General Law 37-13-7 contracts in excess of $1,000 shall require compensation based on prevailing wages for construction, alteration and/or repair, painting and decorating. Nonresident Contractors: In accordance with Rhode Island General Law 44-1-6, nonresident contractors are subject to a 3% withholding of the contract price to secure payment of any sales tax, use tax, and/or income tax withheld that may be due the State of Rhode Island. WBE, MBE and Section 3 contractors are encouraged to bid. Bid Review Period: In conformance with the terms and conditions of these specifications including the Invitation to Bid and other documentary forms therewith, the Bidder hereby proposes, offers and agrees if this bid be accepted within sixty (60 calendar days from the date of bid opening to do all things necessary to fully perform and satisfy all terms, conditions and requirements of the subject specifications Withdrawal of Bids: No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty (60days after the actual time and date of the bid opening thereof. Rejection of Bids: The City reserves the right to cancel this ITB, award on the basis of cost alone, accept or reject any or all bids, in whole or in part. The City further reserves the right to waive as an informality any irregularities contained in any bid not affecting substantial rights that may be in the City's best interest. Bids found to be technically or substantially nonresponsive at any point in the review process will be rejected and not considered further. Any such decision will be considered final. Bid Award: Upon selection of a winning contractor, the City of Woonsocket will send a bid award notice to the awardee. The bid award notice will identify a point of contact from the City who will assist the awardee in completing any pre-work requirements. Upon satisfactory meeting all of the obligations of the pre-wok requirements, the City of Woonsocket will issue a "Notice to Proceed" for work to commence. Question Deadline 10/04/2024 Base Bid: Low slope roof work includes: 1 Refer to specification sections for additional information and installation guidelines. 2 Remove all existing roofing components down to the steel deck including but not limited to: modified bituminous roofing, insulation, fasteners, edge metal components, and all other associated components. 3 Remove areas of insulation areas designated as wet in the IR Moisture Survey report. Existing dry insulation is to remain. 4 Mechanically attach 5.2" base layer of polyisocyanurate insulation and 1/4 " per foot tapered polyisocyanurate to the steel deck at fastening patterns of 11 fasteners per 4 x 8' board in Zone 1 (field), 17 fasteners per 4 x 8' board in Zone 2 (perimeter), and 22 fasteners per 4 x 8' board in Zone 3 (corners). 5 Install 4 x 4' tapered sumps at all existing drain locations. 6 Adhere 1/2 " DensDeck Primed gypsum recovery board to the polyisocyanurate insulation in 3/4 " wide high rise foam insulation adhesive beads applied at 12" o.c. 7 Adhere one (1) ply of base sheet over the entire substrate in specified adhesive at two and half (2.5) gallons per square. (using a weighted roller and 1/8" notched squeegee) 8 Adhere one (1) ply of mineral surfaced cap sheet over the entire substrate in specified adhesive at two and half (2.5) gallons per square. (using a weighted roller and 1/8" notched squeegee). Heat weld all seams. 9 At all base flashings, adhere two (2) plies of specified membrane (base & cap) in specified flashing mastic. 10 Apply two (2) coats of aluminized coating over the entire substrate. Allow thirty (30) days to cure. 11 Terminate all flashings using termination bar and stainless steel counterflashing's. 12 Install new soldered copper pitch pockets with pourable sealant and umbrellas at existing locations. Pitch pockets are to be stripped in with base (6") 13 Replace all skylights using Wasco Velux EcoSky to match existing dimensions. 14 Install new pre-manufactured flash-less fascia and fascia extender assembly, radius fascia,and all associated sheet metal components with .040 Kynar coated aluminu Question Deadline 10/04/2024
