Site work, paving and outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot in Brownwood, Texas. Working plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
As of 11/22/2024, all bids were rejected. The construction of a new parking lot and surrounding sidewalks, ramps, lighting, landscaping, and other accompanying items adjacent to the Brownwood Event Center Complex. All questions must be submitted in writing to BRW Architects by the end of business on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Questions may be directed to: Emily Murphy: emurphy@brwarch.com. A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Brownwood or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The successful Bidder must provide a Performance Bond and Payment Bond pursuant to the requirements of Texas Government Code Chapter 2253. PERFORMANCE BOND, MAINTENANCE BOND, AND PAYMENT BOND: The Contractor shall furnish a performance bond, a maintenance bond and a payment bond executed in five (5) counterparts by the successful Contractor, signed by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Texas, acceptable as surety to the Owner in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract price, guaranteeing complete and faithful performance of the Contract, and guaranteeing performance of the Contractor's warranty. LIQUIDATED DAMAGES FOR FAILURE TO COMPLETE ON TIME: The time of completion is the essence of this contract. For each calendar day that any work shall remain uncompleted after the time specified in the proposal and the contract, or the increased time granted by the OWNER, or as equitably increased by additional work or materials ordered after the contract is signed, five-hundred ($500) dollars a day in liquidated damages shall be paid to the Owner. The City Council retains the right to reject any and all bids submitted and to waive any irregularities in the bids. The City Council reserves the right to cancel the project without any obligation to the bidders. The City Council may award the bid that presents the best value for the City pursuant to Govít Code Section 2269.055 using the criteria set forth herein. In determining best value for the City, the City Council shall consider: (1) the price; (2) the reputation and experience of the contractor; (3) the quality of the contractor's services; (4) the impact on the ability of the City to comply with rules relating to historically underutilized businesses; (5) the contractor's safety record; (6) the contractor's proposed personnel and (7) whether the contractor's financial capability is appropriate to the size and scope of the project; and (8) the contractor's past relationship with the City. In determining best value, the City will give the criteria the following weighted values: price ñ 50%; the remaining criteria shall be valued equally.
