Renovation of an educational facility in Waterbury, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Pursuant to this Request for Proposal ("RFP") The City of Waterbury, Department of Education (hereinafter the "City"), is seeking proposals from third parties ("proposer" or "contractor") to remove and replace the front entry doors at Driggs Elementary School ("Driggs") and Woodrow Wilson ("Wilson") Elementary Schools (the "Project") located at 77 Woodlawn Terrace and 235 Birch Street, respectively, in Waterbury, Connecticut. All questions and communications about this request for Proposal and submission requirements must be directed to the City of Waterbury website and must be received by 2:00 PM on September 27, 2024. Background and Intent As more particularly described herein, the front entry door at Driggs shall be removed and replaced and install a man-trap door at Wilson. It is the intent to award the projects in part or in whole. The successful proposers(s) may be awarded either or both front entry door projects. Agreement Period The agreement period for any contract or purchase order resulting from this RFP is anticipated to be one hundred eighty (180) days from the issued Notice to Proceed ("NTP"). Performance/Payment Bonds The proposer offered a contract with a total cost in excess of $50,000 must furnish to the City a one hundred (100) percent performance bond with a surety, and in a form, acceptable to the City. In the City's sole discretion, it may also require a one hundred (100) percent payment bond and/or other additional security with a surety, and in a form, acceptable to the City. The City reserves the right to award in part, to reject any and all proposals in whole or in part for misrepresentation or if the proposer is in default of any prior City contract, or if the proposal limits or modifies any of the terms and conditions and/or specifications of the RFP. The City also reserves the right to waive technical defects, irregularities and omissions if, in its judgment, the best interest of the City will be served.
