Renovation of a mixed-use development in Danville, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 16,432-square-foot transportation facility.

The scope of work for Danville's Aviation Training Facility project involves developing a vacant parcel located at the Danville Regional Airport on the north side of Airport Drive (near the airport fire station) that will allow for the construction of a 12,532 square foot building to support the Danville Community College's aviation maintenance technology program and Averett University's Aeronautics program. The scope of work also involves renovating an existing 3900 square foot hangar to support certain activities for Danville Community College's aviation maintenance technology training program. Site prep construction work related to this project will be completed through a different contract. Please note this project will be partially funded with Federal funds from the United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration and therefore is subject to the Federal laws and regulations associated with that program. Time of Completion: All work must be completed within 365 days after a notice to proceed is issued related to the completion of site prep construction work activities. Liquidated Damages: $500 dollars per calendar day. Award: A. The award will be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, with consideration given to completion time. B. The City reserves the right to reject any or all offers and to waive informalities and minor irregularities in offers received. C. The award will be made to the proposal conforming to the IFB and will be most advantageous to the City.
