Renovation of an educational facility in San Luis Obispo, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Project Description: 1. The contractor shall review and follow the current SLCUSD Specifications. 2. Replace irrigation main lines, laterals and sprinkler heads. Adjust head locations and number of heads per zone as necessary for optimal coverage. 3. Contractor to ensure field irrigation is divided into two logical sections for future field maintenance. (left field can be repaired while right field can be used by school) 4. Install 1 1/2 inch conduit between irrigation valve boxes to use for two wire control system. 5. Replace the irrigation booster pump with Pentair VFD controlling a Berkley pump. 6. Install district supplied Netafim hydrometer hydraulic valve. 7. Install EZ-Flo HF-086 injection system on the irrigation main, downstream of the booster pump and hydrometer. 8. Install approximately 28' of new 6ft chain link, to create a pump yard between buildings, for controller, booster pump, EZ Flo, Valves, Etc. 9. Strip and grade field, remove spoils, add 2 inches of soil amendment for sod, install sod. Total area of field renovation is approximately 180,000 sq ft. This process will be completed in two phases to allow the school use of part of the field during construction. 10. Renovate both baseball infields with 1/3 clay, 1/3 gravel and 1/3 sand mixture. Verify infield quick couplers are behind the pitcher's mound, are functional and valve boxes are at grade. 11. Replace all chain link mesh with class one, nine gauge, galvanized before weave, 2" mesh on approximately 20' tall baseball backstops. Repair or replace posts as necessary. Match all existing heights and widths. Replace 120 ft. 2x12 pressure treated Douglas fir on backstops. Ensure that there is an overlap where wood and chain link meet. 12. Remove and replace approximately 200 cubic yards (16,000 sq.ft. 4 inches deep) of surface dirt, from the backstop to the edge of the field, with non-stabilized DG. 13. The contractor will be responsible for complete and full irrigation function and coverage. 14. The contractor shall maintain the new sod for no less than 90 days after installation. 15. The contractor shall generate an ideal annual watering schedule and program all settings to maintain a proper watering schedule. Schedule: 1. Anticipated construction start is November 2024. 2. Duration: 6 Months Construction Budget: 1. $745,325 Questions regarding documents, discrepancies, omissions, or doubt as to meanings shall be referred immediately to the Owner who will send written instructions clarifying such questions to each bidder. Questions regarding Bid #328 may be directed in writing only to the Facilities Analyst II, Kelly Lee, at klee@slcusd.org, and must be submitted no later than 02:00 p.m., Thursday, September 26, 2024.
