The City of Cornelius invites qualified contractors to submit proposals to provide services described in the "scope of work". The intent is to select one contractor to develop, administrate and enforce the rights-of-way utility ordinances and existing utility franchises including, but not limited to: electrical, natural gas, and telecommunications (including cell tower sites), in compliance with federal, state and local laws, and policies to regulate and manage uses of local public rights-of-way by utility companies. The City will also seek expert advice on the existing relevant City code, and potential for improvements to code and policies. This position manages and monitors compliance with City code, and if applicable, existing franchise agreements. This position also coordinates negotiations with new or renewing Right of Way users and monitors local control of Right of Way issues.
