Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a medical facility in Barrys Bay, Ontario. Completed plans call for the addition of a 6,000-square-foot, two-story above grade medical facility; for the demolition of a medical facility; for the renovation of a 6,000-square-foot medical facility; and for site work for a medical facility.

PART 1: This part of project consists of two phases. Phase 1 is the construction of the new Emergency Department addition, embankment stabilization, and temporary gravel parking lot. This area is approximately 6,000 sq.ft excluding exterior works. Phase 2 encompasses the renovation of a portion of the existing building, the main Entrance and Ambulatory Care areas - approximately 7,860 sq.ft, as well as the construction of a new heliport. In both phases there will be intermediate stages of work to permit the continuous operation of the hospital. Some will necessitate work stoppages to allow the hospital to relocate operations. The General Contractor shall co-ordinate with the hospital with respect to this. PART 2: The slope rehabilitation project involves a 170m span, requiring sub-excavation to a 1:1 slope and replacement with R-50 rip-rap material underlain with geotextile to achieve a minimum 1.75:1 slope. The rip-rap will be 500mm thick at the top, increasing in thickness down the slope, and keyed into existing material at the toe to a depth of 600mm and a length of 900mm. The rip-rap plan area covers approximately 1925m2, with an additional 3515m2 area to be grubbed for material removal and slope preparation. Additional work includes relocating a fence section and constructing rip-rap pads at storm outfall outlets. Additionally, an area of approximately 2,000 square meters on the north side of the hospital site to be graveled and prepared for temporary parking.
