Renovation of a mixed-use development in London, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 76,000-square-foot office development; and conference / convention center.

The purpose of this pre-qualification ["Request for Supplier Qualifications ("RFSQ") Process"] is to select up to five (5) of the highest scoring Proponents ("Qualified Proponents") who will be invited to submit bids in an upcoming l Request for Tender ("RFT") process. WSIB reserves the right to select only those Proponents that they deem suitable and qualified to undertake the Project. Only Proponents that are prequalified, as part of this RFSQ process will be invited to participate in the Tender. Proponents should be experienced with commercial office interior construction projects in the range of $10M to $15M (applicable taxes excluded), Note WSIB has some preferred vendors for various elements of the Work. The WSIB believes that community benefits can be an integral component to infrastructure projects of the future and is committed to exploring and learning from the community and ways communities can be strengthened. The Contractor under the future RFT will venture to complete the Project 2024-C01 in a manner that seeks real community benefit for London, Ontario, and its surrounding communities. WSIB is looking to ensure that Qualified Proponents will be able to produce and deliver on a project-specific social procurement plan that is committed to ensuring that tangible workforce and supplier development outcomes set out by WSIB are achieved as part of that plan including audit-level local and social spending at approved businesses and sourced labour from the local, social enterprises and local businesses with diverse ownership equity-seeking community to complete the Project. The plan must include a project-specific approach to maximizing equity-seeking apprenticeship and supplier development opportunities during the Project. WSIB has identified two principal categories to achieve community benefits: The Project is a capital improvement project of approximately 76,000 useable sq ft. The Project will consist of retrofitting an existing facility and will include new Learning Centre, Conference Facility, Welcome Centre, and agile work environment. Tenders are expected to be called on November 6, 2024. Pending finalization of the Contract [CCDC2-2020], and receipt of all permits and approvals the proposed construction start is tentatively scheduled to commence on January 3, 2025. Construction is anticipated to be substantially completed by May 6, 2025 (2024-C01E, 2024-C01C, 2024-C01D and 2024-C01F). Space ready for July 11, 2025.
