Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Irvine, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
Student Center Plaza Seismic Joint Repair: The project consists of the repair of concealed waterproofing defects at the seismic expansion joint system integral to the elevated podium deck in an occupied building. The work will include, but is not limited, to selective demolition of existing seismic expansion joints and concrete topping slab. New work will require the sequencing and integration of new 1-hr and 2-hr seismic joints, horizontal waterproofing assembly, and concrete repairs. Other trades included, but are not necessarily limited to, storefront/glazing, plumbing, sheet metal, and masonry. Plumbing work includes installing five new bi-level area deck drains and tying into existing storm drain system. All work will be performed in an occupied building that service students, staff, and the public at large. Estimated Construction Cost: $1,590,000. Mobilization and construction shall start June 17, 2025. Project shall be substantially completed by August 29, 2025. Construction Duration: 73 Calendar Days UCI reserves the right to reject any or all responses to this notice, to waive non-material irregularities, and to deem Contractors prequalified for the project. To prequalify, Contractors must agree to comply with all conditions including state prevailing wages, 10% bid bond, 100% payment and performance bonds, and insurance requirements. General "B" California Contractors Licenses are required. Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the bid documents and to pay prevailing wage rates at the location of the work. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a Bid for this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to California Labor Code Sections 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. No contractor or subcontractor may be awarded any portion of this project unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
