Renovation of a mixed-use development in Muncie, Indiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Notice is hereby given that Cowan Community School Corporation ("Owner"), by and through its Board is requesting bids from qualified contractors to provide work and services related to the public work projects "2024 Improvements" located at Cowan Elementary School 1000 W. Co. Rd. 600 S, Muncie, IN, and at Cowan Junior/Senior High School, 9401 S. Nottingham St., Muncie IN. Bid security shall be in the amount of 5% of the bidder's total contract price. Should a successful bidder within ten (10) days after written notice of acceptance of bid withdraw its bid, fail to provide the required payment and performance bonds, or execute a satisfactory contract, the Owner may then declare that bid security forfeited as liquidated damages, not as a penalty. Prior to approval and execution of the Owner's contract, each contractor who is the successful bidder for a project shall furnish an approved performance and labor and materials payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract amount, which shall cover the faithful performance of the contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder. A Maintenance Bond shall also be required. The maintenance bond shall remain in full force and effect for a period of one year after the Owner's acceptance of the work and Owner's final settlement with the successful bidder. Questions regarding each project, or requests for fair and equal treatment, can be directed in writing to Superintendent, Cowan Community School Corporation, 9401 S. Nottingham St, Muncie, IN 47302 or cconley@cowan.k12.in.us The Owner expects to award a contract for the work to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder at its October 17, 2024 board meeting. Owner reserves the right to hold bids, including any alternates, for up to 60 days from the date of the bid opening. Owner reserves in its sole discretion the right to cancel the solicitation, reject any and all bids, is not obligated to accept the lowest or any other bid, and may Restroom renovations and reconfiguration at the elementary school. New HVAC rooftop units and VAV boxes along with boilers and new heating water piping at the elementary school. New lights and ceilings in portions of the elementary school. New electrical gear at the elementary school. New building controls throughout New restroom finishes and fixtures at the high school. New boilers and chillers along with potentail classroom HVAC unit replacement. New building controls throughout. Estimated Cost: Bid A: $5,300,000 Bid B: $ 3,010,000
