Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Salisbury, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The proposed project is located at the Tennis and Pickle Ball Complex, at 325 W. Miller St., Salisbury NC 28144. The project includes cleaning, repairing cracks and resurfacing four (4) Tennis Courts and six (6) Pickle Ball Courts refer to Section III for specifications. A. Fill and repair cracks and resurface ALL 4 Tennis courts and 6 Pickle Ball Courts. Applications of two (2) coats of surfacing material and two (2) coats in high traffic areas. B. According to USTA and APA specification layout 4 regulation Tennis Courts and 6 regulation Pickle Ball Courts. PART 2 DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONS OF WORK 2.01 COURT COLOR AND STRIPING TENNIS COURTS A. On courts 1, 2, 3 and 4 thoroughly clean all pavement surface and cracks by sweeping, vacuuming, air blasting or pressure washing. B. Determine the locations of the "birdbath(s)", if any. Flood the courts or watch a rain event to mark the low area(s) we have on courts. Tennis nets and posts are to remain on courts 1, 2, 3 and 4. C. Smooth any and all rough edges and remove debris. Fill all cracks, level with surface with an approved, and highly flexible, asbestos-free material. Then apply Armor Crack Repair System or comparable system. Follow manufactures installation instructions and provide us with a copy of the warranty for the Armor Crack Repair System. D. For resurfacing, furnish and apply two (2) base coats of Acrylic Resurfacer. Mix according to manufactures' recommendations and mix in clean silica sand at a rate to achieve a medium speed. You must always keep a wet edge during application. E. Apply two (2) coats of acrylic color, to match the Blue on the inner court and Forest Green on the outer, final color to be chosen by Parks and Recreation staff. Mix according to manufactures' recommendations and mix in clean silica sand at a rate to achieve a medium speed. You must always keep a wet edge during application. F. Lay-out and paint white lines with textured line paint in accordance with USTA specifications. G. Install four (4) new regulation tennis court nets. Save the best nets. H. Clean-up work site. Remove all work related debris from site. PICKLE BALL COURTS A. Thoroughly clean all pavement surface and cracks by sweeping, vacuuming, air blasting or pressure washing. B. Determine the locations of the "birdbath(s)", if any. Flood the courts or watch a rain event to mark the low area(s) we have on courts 1 thru 6. Tennis nets and posts are to remain on Pickle Ball courts for a divider between pickle ball courts. C. Install six (6) new regulation outdoor nets. Save the best nets. Parks and Recreation Staff will determine which nets to save. D. Smooth any and all rough edges and remove debris. Fill all cracks, level with surface with an approved, and highly flexible, asbestos-free material. Then apply Armor Crack Repair System or comparable system. Follow manufactures installation instructions and provide us with a copy of the warranty for the Armor Crack Repair System or comparable system. E. For resurfacing, furnish and apply two (2) base coats of Acrylic Resurfacer. Mix according to manufactures' recommendations and mix in clean silica sand at a rate to achieve a medium speed. Apply two (2) coats of acrylic color Blue on the inner court and Forest Green on the outer, final color to be chosen by Parks and Recreation staff. Mix according to manufactures' recommendations and mix in clean silica sand at a rate to achieve a medium speed. You must always keep a wet edge during application. G. Lay-out and paint yellow (2.25 inch) play lines with textured line paint in accordance with the APA specifications. H. Clean-up the work site. Remove all work related debris from site. Mail two copies of the bid per envelope. Address the envelope and insert the bid number as shown below. It is the bidder's responsibility to have the bid in this office by the specified time and date of opening. A sample Contract is in Section IV. The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all proposals as deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
