Site work and paving for a road / highway in Chesapeake, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This project funds construction of a signalized off-ramp approximately 1,000 feet north of the Battlefield Boulevard at Wal Mart Way intersection. This new connection will allow access to Wal Mart Way for westbound I-64 to southbound Battlefield Boulevard traffic. Movement is currently restricted due to the short weave distance along Battlefield Boulevard. In addition to off-ramp improvements, the southbound left turn lane from Battlefield Boulevard to Wal Mart Way will be extended. Project is included in City of Chesapeake Fiscal Year 2026-2030. As of August 12, 2025, project is funded for construction in 2027-2029 and design in 2026-2027. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
