The City of Yorkton, Recreation & Community Services Department is issuing this Request for Proposals from interested parties for a golf services contractor to manage the day-to-day operations of the Deer Park Golf Course, located in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. The City is seeking an experienced golf course operator for the Deer Park Golf Course. The Contractor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Deer Park, including the driving range, Pro Shop (including front and back of house operations), and some landscape and janitorial maintenance around the clubhouse area. The Contractor is also responsible for the employees required to adequately staff and operate the Pro Shop and provide golf services to the public. The Contractor will lead the promotion of Deer Park as a City resource, including introducing residents and visitors to the game of golf, building community around golf course operations, and promoting open access to the municipal golf course. The intent is to select a Contractor that will commit to excellence in customer service in all aspects of golf course operations and management, be a supportive partner to the City in the maintenance and improvement of facilities, and act as a responsible manager of funds and data.
Further, the City is also interested in selecting a Contractor with experience in growing and developing the delivery of golf and related services within the community. This includes experience promoting golf course use and events with communities who have never played golf before, making the golf environment welcoming to people with disabilities or limited mobility, and/or managing limited non-golf activities at the course (e.g. cross country events, ski trail usage, etc.) It is the City's goal that Deer Park continues to be a treasured resource for the local golf community, be a good neighbour to those who live and work around the course, and be a place of connection and gathering for people, golfers and non-golfers alike.
The primary objectives of the City in respect to the operation of Deer Park are:
a. To promote Deer Park as a publicly accessible golf course, open for all residents and visitors of Yorkton to enjoy.
b. To promote Deer Park as a facility of choice for local, regional, and provincial golf events.
c. To provide and promote golf related programs and services with the intent of increasing the overall usage of Deer Park.
d. To develop a service-orientated and responsive golf delivery program, which places customer satisfaction, facility and amenity cleanliness, consistent customer service expectations, and revenue growth as its priorities.
e. To provide a high level of service to both golfing and non-golfing customers.
f. To ensure that the City receives adequate and appropriate compensation from the private business allowed to operate on public property. Intent to Respond
